Berlin Youth Hurling Weekend 24/03/2018

Wow! Just wow... this weekend was something else. Coming off the back of St. Patrick's Festival Berlin 2018 last weekend, we were all dosed with the cold and mad for more! Over 40 youth players from throughout Germany were involved in two days of Huring training and competition, guided by our VIP coach, Frank Devereux of Official Wexford GAA, clubman of Ferns GAA. Guests from Munich Colmcilles GAA and Hamburg GAA made up our numbers with coaches, referees, umpires and with being generally good spuds!

The Setanta coaches, Hugh Bert KavanaghLauritz BonnenDáire MurrayClaire Molloy, Daithi Reynolds, Brian Ahern and Vanessa Hagenhaus along with Munich youth coaches Charlotte Albayrak and Cillian O'Donnabhain guided our young players through a mad weekend of fun, organized chiefly by our local mad 'wun, Sinead Kavanagh. Check out the slideshow below of only some of the 2,189 images from the weekend!

A huge 'thank you' to German GAA / Deutscher Bund Gälischer Sportarten and Bezirkssportbund Steglitz-Zehlendorf for all their financial support, including Gaelic Games Europe for their background organizational help. The presence and assistance by the Irish Embassy in Berlin staff, both this weekend and last weekend during Paddy's day, is greatly appreciated as always. Thanks also to the on-site staff who kept the drinks flowing and the clubhouse in good order for us to use. You'll see a lot of helpful faces below who were essential to the weekend being successful!
