Collaboration with 'Girls Gearing Up' e.V. 08/03/2018

On this 'International Women's Day' we're very pleased to announce that we're 'gearing up' with Girls Gearing Up (GGU), a local NGO with international interests in empowering and inspiring young women! Chi, Christina and their team are excited, as are we, to see what we can achieve together.

Our ladies jersey will feature GGU prominiently, as well as our members supporting participants at GGU workshops and events. Potentially we'll maybe see a GGU Camogie team, watch this space ;-)

Our Camogie and Ladies Gaelic Football officer, Claire Molloy, gave some background:

"We knew that GGU was the right fit for us from the start when we came upon their website, http://www.girlsgearingup.org/ and saw that we share a similar agenda and goals. Long before the #timesup movement, Camogie has provided a forum for girls to be empowered among their peers in an atmosphere of fun, friendship and competitiveness. These sentiments are mirrored by GGU. Camogie had been proven to be the best physical and psychological all-rounder sport for girls allowing them to achieve their full potential. This we share with GGU."
